RICHARD BOWERS IS OUR COLLECTOR CORNER’S GUEST. WELCOME!
Richard has been a regular participant in our show displaying examples of his collection, some impeccably restored, some un-restored, but they all have something in common: they’re Hondas.
“I started riding when I was a teenager and collecting 37 years ago. My first one was a S90 in High school. After that I bought a 305 Scrambler. When I was in the military I bought a CB77 Superhawk. In 1990 I joined the VJLA & CJMC Clubs. In my current collection I have 16 bikes and 8 project bikes. I always like finding a barn find and bring them back to life. My favorite Honda is my current project, a 1960 CB92 125 Benly. This bike is rare and hard to find including parts. But with the help of a few friends I found all the missing parts. Now its about done and it’ll be on display at the show in October. I also restore vintage Hondas for customers. Recently, I bought a CB450 KO Black Bomber with very low miles. Just needs cosmetic restoration. I enjoy taking them to the shows and talking to people that own Hondas as well”.
Rick’s Vintage Hondas operates out of Carson, only a few miles from Long Beach.
We look forward to seeing him once again at the show. Only this time he’ll be under the proverbial spotlight in the Collector’s Corner.
Start polishing those Hondas, Richard!
